The Design Process
Each Morpho piece originates in the architectural studio of Dieter Vander Velpen. Sketches evolve through physical modelling, material testing, and close collaboration with master craftspeople before a final form is approved for production.
Styling & Space
Morpho pieces are designed to anchor a space without dominating it. A single Atelier Vierkant planter beside a teak daybed creates a visual dialogue between manufactured form and living material — precision and growth held in perfect tension.
Material Stories
Solid teak tells time through its grain. Hand-thrown ceramic holds the memory of the maker's hands. Brass ages to a warm patina that no factory finish can replicate. At Morpho, materials are chosen not merely for beauty but for the story they continue to tell over decades of use.
Art Nouveau Revisited
Contemporary Art Nouveau
Art Nouveau was the first movement to fully dissolve the boundary between fine art and functional design. Morpho carries that ambition forward — not as pastiche, but as an honest response to the natural world using the tools and materials of today.
Signature motifs — the Volita chair's curved back inspired by a dragonfly wing, the Solis daybed's canopy echoing the arc of a sundial — appear across the collection with quiet consistency, creating a unified visual language without repetition.
